Characteristics

for more info: www.watucab.com

Revolutionary method using water as carrying fluid to install power cables in PVC or HDPE ducts in reduced size trenches.

ADVANTAGES :

  • reduced installation and civil engineering cost
  • less disturbance to neighbourhood (mobile site)
  • greatly reduced risk of damages to cable and duct during installation
  • possibility to install longer cable sections safely over tortuous duct routes, hence reduction of the number of junctions

CHARACTERISTICS :

  • allows the installation of significant lengths of cable (HTA : >2km ; HTB : > 3km). Whereas a winch, considering the pulling forces exerted, is limited to lengths inferior by about 50%
  • faster than winching
  • allows the installation of longer cable sections over tortuous duct routes (siphon, directional drilling) where a normal winch is unsuitable

COMPARING PULLING AND PUSHING EFFORTS * :

* 1620° cumulated angular deflection over 976 meters

OPERATING PRINCIPLES :

PUSHING-FLOATING (PF)
